Based on your description it sounds like we will be able to use the
channels.  I have attached a picture of the pieces in question for you to
look over.  The stone mason is coming on Tuesday to start the assembly of
the masonry stove.  Please describe the "patch process" so we can pass it
along to him.  Thanks again for your prompt assistance in this matter.
