2019 MHA Research Heater Tests

Test MHA-1914
February 17, 2019

Random loading, dry white birch, log cabin stacking, top ignition. Cold firebox, cold fuel
Pieces loaded in order of increasing weight. 2344 stacking.
58 lbs (estimated) including 2.0 lbs kindling
Estimated moisture 13%.
Run #8 of a cold firebox test series. Heater fired every 2nd day.
The Testo data was started 15 minutes before the test. 
Kindling stacked and ignited for a slower start, to ignite all the kindling before the birch bark.
Low CO, but higher PM than an equivalent clean oak burn with the same low CO.

Testo gas graph to 130 minutes. Only the first 90 minute data was used for the gas calculations, as this is normally when the air would be closed in the Austrian eco-firebox system.
